Sorry to post such a belated condolence. I just learned of her death. I first knew Claire as a member of her Girl Scout troop. That was so long ago that we remember Nick courting Claire and then their first child, whom we helped baby-sit. Long after Scouts and long after I moved away from Clinton, I would visit Claire when I could. We so enjoyed reminiscing. What a wonderful woman and what contributions she made to the community. Words cannot really express my appreciation of her nor the extent of my grief. With love to all, Elizabeth Katz

I remember Claire when she was our son, Brian's, first grade teacher, and I was the room mother. Mrs. Burns was a great teacher, and was always caring about each and every student. Even though it was a long time ago during the early 80's she left an impression that I still remember. We are so sorry for your loss.
Deepest Sympathy,
Ray and Sona Larzelere

She got it. "Love your neighbor as you love yourself." She loved herself and reflected that same unconditional love that God showed her through her abiding faith in Christ. We all have a lense with the way we see the world, and I see in Mrs. Burns(was a kid next door...she was always and will always be Mrs. Burns) as a child of The King. She was one of Clinton's princesses, going around and doing good for The Lord, herself, her family, friends, strangers, and to "the uttermost." For Mrs. Burns, and those she loved, it was "a wonderful life." Thanks Mrs. Burns for being one of my Mom's growing up. My love to all the Burns family, some I knew a little better than others growing up, at this time of losing(for a time) her loving spirit and soul. Till we meet again.

When I was a little and in Girl Scouts, Claire always bought mass amounts of cookies from me. She would always invite me in her house to chat when I went knocking for my yearly sales. She was like the community grandma. My condolences to Burns family she was a gem!

Claire was one of our favorite residents at Brookdale. It was so hard not to favor her, her laugh, her smile, her humor. She made us smile everyday. People like Claire are angels people like Claire make my job worth going to. Brookdale will not be the same without her around. I will forever remember everyday I was able to spend with her and I am so grateful for the time that I had. My condolences go out to your family. You all are great people and I just want to thank you for the opportunity to care for your mother/grandmother/aunt....I will never forget her.
