Obituary of Ernest "Bill" William Stricker

Ernest William "Bill" Stricker, 93, of Barker Rd., Clinton, passed away on Tuesday, January 17, 2012, at his home with his family by his side. He was born, the son of Bartholome and Katherina Frischkaech Stricker on September 7, 1918, in Monroe, Wisconsin. Bill attended Waterville Central School and served in the US Army during World War II with the 2nd Armored Division. He married Mary E. Collins on November 16, 1946, a blessed union of 65 years. Bill was a hard working dairy farmer his whole life and passed the farm and his work ethic on to his children. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Clinton. He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Mary E. Stricker; eight children and their spouses, W. Daniel Stricker and his wife Margaret Williams, Syracuse, Linda and Bill McComb, Clinton, Rosemary and Walter Wadas, Sr., Whitesboro, Richard Stricker, Whitesboro, Margaret Stricker, Norfolk, VA, Katherine and Harold Schofield, Jr., Verona, Robert Stricker, Clinton, and Tina and Joseph Lallier, Clinton; his thirteen grandchildren and their spouses, Katie and Brian Edwards, Beth and Laura Stricker, David and Libby McComb, Dr. Timothy and Alejandra McComb, Patty McComb, Walter Wadas, Jr., Jeremy and Carol Bragg, Jeffrey and Elizabeth Bragg, Sara Arntson, Harold Schofield III, Christopher and Ryan Lallier; six great-grandchildren, Elena, Lillian, Daisy, Tyler, Megan and Brooke; a special nephew and his spouse, Ed and Candy Collins, Chadwicks. Bill will be missed by many relatives, friends and great neighbors. He was predeceased by a brother, John Stricker and a sister, Hedwig Eisenhut. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Saturday, January 21, 2012 at 10 am at St. Mary's Church, Clinton. Prayers will be held at 9:15 am on Saturday at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College Street, Clinton. Relatives and friends are invited to call Friday, January 20, 2012 from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Interment will be held at St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton.
