Obituary of Grace E Atkinson
Grace E. Atkinson, 92, of E. South St., passed away at home on October 4, 2018, with her family by her side.
She was born December 20, 1925, the daughter of Clarence and Iva (Donahue) Edwards. On May 17, 1947, she was united in marriage to Fred J. Atkinson, until his passing on March 23, 2000. Grace had worked at the Willowvale Bleachery, The Lutheran Home and retired from Westmoreland Central School where she was a bus driver and cafeteria aid for many years. Grace was a member of the O.E.S. Clinton-Westmoreland Chapter for many years.
She is survived by her three children and their spouses, Sharon and Wayne Mattice of Vernon Center, Carol Barone of Rome, and Al and Neta Jackson of Sylvan Beach; six beloved grandchildren, Michele and Travis Wright, Tracy Peters and Jordan Ashcraft, Kristy and Curt Wilson, James Mattice and Morgan Pianca, Susan and Eric McKinstry, David and Kristen Szarek; and four great-grandchildren, Ryan, TJ, Tyler and Emma; and several nieces and nephews. She also leaves a neighbor Bernard Szarek. She was predeceased by her husband and two brothers, Irv and Howard Edwards.
A graveside service will be held for the family at Westmoreland Cemetery. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., Clinton.
