Lee Page Kreinheder died at home on Tuesday, November 8, 2011 at the age of 102. She was born in Burlington, Maine on May 10, 1909, the daughter of Rufus A. Page and Nina L. Bean. She graduated from The Sargent School and Boston University. Lee taught in private and public schools for ten years before joining the faculty of Ithaca College in 1939. On November 20, 1941, she married John H. Kreinheder in Detroit, Michigan. John died July 6, 1981. Lee served on the boards of a number of organizations, including The Chamber Music Society of Utica, Friends of Root Glen, Planned Parenthood and A Better Chance of Clinton. She was also a member of St. James Episcopal Church, The Monday Club, Clinton Garden Club, Whist Club and the United States Croquet Association. She was active in the League of Women Voters since 1945 and later served as an officer of the Overseas Education Fund, Washington, DC. Lee is survived by several nieces and nephews and a host of devoted friends. There will be no calling hours. A memorial service will be in the Root Glen Peony Garden in the Spring.
