Obituary of Robert G Broedel

Robert G. Broedel, 85, of New Hartford passed away peacefully at home with his family by his side on September 12, 2011.
He was born July 7, 1926 in Clinton, a son of Francis and Margaret Brady Broedel. He graduated from Clinton School in 1944 and is a veteran of WWII where he served in the US Air Force. On January 17, 1948, he was united in marriage to Megan Parry - a blessed union of 63 years. Bob retired as a claims adjuster with Utica Mutual and also worked at Kelsey-Hayes. He enjoyed cooking, hunting, golfing and especially spending time with his family. Bob attended St. James Episcopal Church in Clinton. He was a member of the Clinton-Hampton Lodge #347 F.A.M. for 62 years and was Past Master serving in 1958. Bob was also a Past President of the Clinton Lions Club and the Utica Claims Association.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years, Megan Parry Broedel; two sons, Brian of Poland and Scott of West Palm Beach, FL and a daughter and son-in-law, Jill and Norman Wright of Brockport; six grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren, Kelly and Robert Foote of Holland Patent and their children Caden, Carlee and Corinne, Mark Broedel, Heather and Ivan Sanchez and Tiffany and Alberto Riaboukha and their children, Jacynda, Alberto Jr, Arelis and Julian all of West Palm Beach, FL and Rebecca and Laura Wright of Brockport. He was the eldest of four brothers, Francis and Cathy of CA, Jacob and Dana of N. Brookfield, William and Joan of Marcy and James of Hamilton and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
A Memorial Service will be held at 2pm Saturday, September 17, 2011 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton. Friends are invited to call Saturday from Noon until the service at 2pm. Clinton-Hampton Lodge #347 F.A.M. will conduct Masonic Services.
