Obituary of Edward A. Frank

Edward A. Frank Lowell Edward A. Frank "Smokey", 80, of Lowell, passed away on Monday, September 12, 2011. He was born on July 23, 1931, in Verona to the late Raymond and Florence Vanshufflin Frank. Edward graduated from Westmoreland High School in 1950. He married his "sweetie" Helen Tormey on May 22, 1954 at The Church of the Annunciation, Clark Mills. Edward was the Deputy Highway Superintendant for the Westmoreland Highway Department. He was the Lowell Fire Chief for twelve years and a member of Holy Family Church, Vernon. Edward was very devoted to his family, as they were the center of his life as well as his "girls" Daisy and Kula. Edward is survived by his "sweetie" of 57 years, Helen; a special daughter and son-in-law, Nancy and Guy Ossont, Lowell; "Pops" to his two cherished grandchildren, Keri Ossont, Penfield and Chad Ossont, Lowell; a sister and brother-in-law, Katherine and Thomas Matt, Taberg; a sister-in-law, Marilyn Frank, Rome; a sister-in-law, Diane Pfieffer, Rome; a step-father, Derl Smith, FL, and several special nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by a brother, Robert Frank and a brother-in-law, Willard Pfieffer. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 2PM on Thursday, September 15, 2011, at the Holy Family Church, 4343 Peterboro St., Vernon, NY 13476. Relatives and friends are invited to call on Wednesday, September 14, 2011 from 5-8PM at the Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. Internment will be held at Westmoreland Cemetery.
