Obituary of Ramon G Perez

Ramon G. Perez, 85, of New Street, passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at the Martin Luther Nursing Home with his family by his side. He was born in Utica on May 27, 1926, a son of Antonio and Frances Marcos Perez. Ray grew up in Clark Mills and graduated from Clinton Central School and attended Utica School of Commerce. He served in the US Army during WWII. On November 17, 1951 at Our Lady of Lourdes, he was united in marriage to his childhood sweetheart, Roberta Sehl. They were devoted to each other and shared a blessed union until Roberta's death in 2008. Ray retired from General Electric and had worked at Griffiss Air Force Base for many years. He was a member of the Disabled American Veterans and St. Mary's Church. He is survived by his children, Brian Perez of Bridgewater, Donna Payne of Clinton, Bruce Perez of Whitesboro, Amy Perez and her fianc Scott Wright of Vernon Center and Lynn Perez and Jerry Smith of Utica; three grandchildren Jessica Kalaf and her husband Jeremy, Abigail Payne and Meghan Perez; two great-grandchildren, Julia Kalaf and Jakob Perez; his brother and sister-in-law, Mario and Edith Perez of Stittville; his brothers-in-law and sisters-and-law; many nieces and nephews and his feline companion Cristabel. He was predeceased by his sister, Maria Jones and his step-father, Pete Tejada. Funeral services will be held at 10:30am Saturday, July 30, 2011 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. There will be no public calling hours.
