Leslie Frances Norton, college professor and author, 58, of Clinton, passed away on Saturday, July 23, 2011 at her residence with her sister by her side.
She was born on October 29, 1952, in Washington D.C., to the late Colonel Leslie M. and Clifford Anne King Norton. Leslie graduated from Butler University and received her Masters Degree in Dance at Indiana University. She was a Hamilton College Professor for 27 years and the author of two books on ballet.
Leslie is survived by two sisters and their spouses, Julia Anne Bailey and Doug Fine of Denver, CO, and Mary King and William Brandenberger of Hatboro, PA; relatives, and friends.
Leslie Norton left an indelible impression on all who knew her, as a brilliant dancer, author, and teacher. She will be deeply missed at Hamilton College, for the inspiration she brought to her students and the tireless, creative work she brought to the Dance and Theater productions. Her sisters, cousins, nieces, and nephews will always remember her humor, generosity, and love.
A Memorial Service will be held in Ms. Norton's memory at the Hamilton Campus Chapel this coming fall at a date to be announced by the family. Arrangements made by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton.
