Louis B. Haight, 85, of Tindall Manor, Clark Mills passed away Monday, July 4, 2011 at his residence with his family by his side. He was born November 6, 1925, in Roxbury, NY to the late Walter and Julia Wetmore Haight. Louis graduated from Canastota High School. He joined the US Navy and was honorably discharged as a WWII veteran. Louis married Jane M. Desmond in 1945 in Hutchinson, KA. He worked as an operations manager for US Air in Syracuse, retiring in 1987. Louis was a member of the Church of the Annunciation, US Navy Air Corps, the Clark Mills American Legion Post 26, and a 40 year employee of the airline industry. He was also a past president of the Clark Mills fire department. Louis is survived by his wife of 66 years, Jane; a daughter and son-in-law, Carole and Paul Litynski of Endwell, NY; a grandchild and her spouse, Tracy and Mapp Young, VA, four great grandchildren, Tommy, Mitchell, Gage, and Shelby Young, all of VA; two sisters, Joyce Schwab, OH, and Rose Thompson, CA; a special friend Brenda Smith; and his special cat, Christopher. He was predeceased by his grandson, Tommy Mitchell, Jr. in 1986. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am on Thursday, July 7, 2011, at the Church of the Annunciation, Clark Mills. Interment will be held at Riverhurst Cemetery, Endicott, NY at a later date. Arrangements made by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton. Please consider donations in lieu of flowers to the Stevens-Swan Humane Society of Oneida County, 5664 Horatio St., Utica, NY 13502, in Louis' memory. The family extends a special thank you to Hospice, especially Ann Amato.
