Obituary of Laurence C Roth

Laurence Charles Roth, 87, of Clark Mills, passed away Tuesday, June 28, 2011 at Faxton-St. Luke's Hospital. He was born May 9, 1924 in New Hartford, the son of the late Charles and Mary Ellen Joslin Roth. Larry proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. He married Eileen Mae Comello on September 1, 1946 and the couple resided in Clark Mills for over 45 years. Mrs. Roth died January 6, 1997. Larry worked at many businesses throughout his life, including Horrick Ibbotson, G.E., Westinghouse, Citrus Fruit Juice, Hooson's Exxon and Cater Lincoln Mercury. He was a member of the Clark Mills American Legion Post #26, Veterans of Foreign Wars and the Disabled American Veterans Chapter #82 in Utica. He is survived by his son William L. Roth of Clark Mills; four daughters, Laurie and Francis White of Rome, Patricia Storey of Rome, Fawn Roth of Clark Mills and Bridget and Thomas Taverne of Westmoreland; twelve grandchildren and a great-grandson, John & Brandi White of Alaska, Scott White of Boston, MA, William & Carrie and their son Harold Storey, Anna, Margery & Arlo Storey, Luke, Tyler & Brooke Taverne, Nick & Kyle Valente and Steven Harvey; two sisters, Betty Shaughnessy and Virginia Roth and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by two brothers, Kenneth and Bob Roth and two sisters, Marie Van Pelt and Eileen Evans. Funeral services will be held at 10am Saturday, July 2, 2011 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St, Clinton, NY with burial in Crown Hill Memorial Park. Friends are invited to call Friday 1-3pm & 6-8pm at the funeral home. Please consider donations to DAV #82, 5 Henry St., Mohawk, NY 13407.
