Leon C. "Lee" Lust
Utica
Leon C. "Lee" Lust, 85, of Maple St., Utica, passed away Monday, April 18, 2011 at his residence with his beloved family by his side.
He was born June 30, 1925 in Akron, NY, to the late Clyde and Rachel Greismeyer Lust. Lee spent most of his early life in Sylvan Beach and graduated from Oneida High School. At 17 he became a proud Marine serving in the South Pacific from 1942-45. Lee was a Staff Sergeant in the US Marine Corps as an aircraft mechanic. He was called back into Service during the Korean Conflict. Lee married Betty Tyler on June 21, 1947 at St. Patrick's Church, Utica, a union that lasted over 63 years. He worked at Vaeth Electric before starting his own business West Side Refrigeration, heating and air conditioning Wholesaler in Utica. Lee enjoyed cooking, baking, and worked part time at the Buffalo Head and Harts Hill Inn after retirement. He was a member of the RSES and Moose Club. Lee also enjoyed photography, wood working, Ham Radio operating, clock making, and working at his computer. He was an avid golfer and an expert skeet shooter.
He is survived by his wife Betty Lust; two daughters, Judith, CA and Lori, Whitesboro; two sons and their spouses, Don and Sharon Lust, MA and David and Phyllis; one grandson, David Lust all of Poland; a special sister-in-law, Doris Dwyer, Frankfort; a special friend Dolores Sczygiel, Utica.
Lee was predeceased by his infant son, David Leon Lust and mother and father-in-law Mary and Adelbert Evans.
Funeral services will be held at 9:30AM on Monday, April 25, 2011 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St, Clinton. Friends are invited to call Thursday from 4-7PM at the funeral home. Burial with military honors will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery, Whitesboro.

The family would like to thank Dr. Razia and her staff for their excellent care and compassion they showed to Lee and his family throughout his illness and the Hospice nurses and caregivers for their help and support.
