Obituary of Margaret Ardella Davenport

Margaret Ardella Davenport, 88, of Clinton, passed away on Friday, February 11, 2011at the Martin Luther Home, Clinton. She was born in Waterville, NY on May 13, 1922, daughter of the late Charles and Ruth Baldock Goodell. Margaret was educated at Waterville High School. She married Ivan Davenport on July 28, 1942 in Binghamton. Ivan passed away on January 22, 1967. Margaret worked for many years at the Waterville Knitting Mill and at the Faxton-St. Luke's Hospital. She enjoyed knitting and crocheting and also loved to collect Teddy Bears. Margaret is survived by her two daughters and a son-in-law, Elizabeth Robert-Phaler and Jonathan Phaler, Geneva, NY, and Marjory Belile, Westmoreland; five grandchildren, Joseph Robert Jr., Bethlehem, PA, Leisha Robert, E. Rochester, Shani Robert, Greece, NY, Patricia Burke, West Lyden, NY, Catherine Belile, Westmoreland, and James Belile, Utica; eight great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; relatives, and friends. She was predeceased by her son-in-law Francis Belile in 2007. A Funeral Service will be celebrated at 11:00am on Monday, February 14, 2011, at the Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. Relatives and friends are invited to call Monday from10:00am until the time of the service. Interment will be held at Waterville Cemetery in the spring.
