Obituary of Lawrence F. Donohoe

Lawrence F. Donohoe, 90, formerly of Mulberry Street, passed away Saturday, January 29, 2011 at the Sitrin Home with his children by his side.
He was born in Clinton, NY on February 25, 1920, son of Francis and Ellen Bogan Donohoe and attended Clinton Central School. Lawrence served in the US Army during WWII and sustained injuries at the Battle of the Bulge. On November 29, 1947 he was united in marriage to Bernice Becker at Holy Trinity Church in Utica. The couple lived in Clinton where they raised their family. Lawrence retired from Griffiss Air Force Base after many years of service. He enjoyed family gatherings - especially the times spent with his grandchildren. He was a member of St. Mary's Church in Clinton and was also a member of the American Legion Helmuth-Ingalls Post #232 and VFW Post #9591.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Margaret & John McGlynn of Enfield, CT; his two sons and a daughter-in-law, James and Michele Donohoe of New Hartford and Brian Donohoe of Clinton; eight grandchildren and their spouses, John & Denise McGlynn, Jason & Sherry McGlynn, James McGlynn, Christopher McGlynn, Jeffrey and Barbara McGlynn, Benjamin Donohoe, Ryan Donohoe, and Jonathan & Mary Donohoe; five great-grandchildren, Patric, Gavin and Madison McGlynn and Hannah and Connor Donohoe. He was predeceased by his two brothers, John Donohoe and Robert Donohoe who was killed during WWII and his two sisters, Anna Edwards and Dorothy Roberts.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30am on Tuesday, February 1, 2011, at St. Mary's Church, Clinton. There will be no public visitation. Burial with military honors will be held in the Spring at St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, Clinton.
