He was born Oct. 24, 1923 in Columbia, SC, the son of Harold and Margaret Jarrett Way. After the death of their father, he went with his mother and brother to live with his maternal grandparents, Mom and Dad Jarrett, in South Williamsport, PA. The place he considered home.

John was an avid model railroader, Yankee, and Redskins fan. Some of his happiest days were planning for and traveling by rail throughout the USA and Canada.
He is survived by his wife, the light of his life, his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren and his in-laws. John was predeceased by his grandson, Keith.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Joseph Booth and Dr. Scott Brehaut and their staff for the loving care and compassion given to John for the past twenty-five years. They would also like to thank the Presbyterian family, especially the Birch Unit staff for making John's last months comfortable and happy.
At his request, there will be no services. Interment will be held at the convenience of the family in Wild Wood Cemetery, Williamsport PA.
