Obituary of William J. Biddlecome Sr.

William J. Biddlecome, Sr., 75, of Trenton Road, passed away Wednesday, September 16, 2009 at Faxton-St. Luke's Hospital after a battle with MDS. He was born November 19, 1933 in Hamilton, the son of the late William Bethune and Dorothy Dickson Biddlecome. Bill grew up in New Hartford, graduating from New Hartford Central School and received his associate's degree from MVCC. He served his country in the US Army and was a member of the American Legion Utica Post 229. Bill retired from Tartan Textiles after many years of services. He enjoyed traveling, car shows, hockey, NASCAR and above all else, he loved spending time with his grandchildren. He is survived by his two sons and daughters-in-law, William and Jody Biddlecome Jr. of Greenville, NC and Robert and Deborah Shorey of Clinton; six grandchildren, Joshua, Cameron and Katelyn Biddlecome and Brandon, Tyler and Mekenzie Shorey; a great granddaughter, Autumn Shorey; nieces Judy, Daryl and Dorothy and a nephew David. He was predeceased by his sister Betty Austin. Funeral services will be held at 6pm Sunday, September 20, 2009 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton. Relatives and friends may call Sunday from 3pm until the time of the service. Private burial services will be held for the family. The family thanks Dr. John and Dr. Razia for their care and the nurses and staff at Faxton-St. Luke's Hospital and the Faxton Infusion Center for their kindness and compassion.
