After many fine suppers at the Wainright residence growing up in high school, I felt the first twinge that if I ever did become anything with an engineer in my eventual title that I would be as comprehensive and curious as Harvey was. The spirit to do so, which took some time, and then some elbow grease, was sent aloft at that supper table as Harvey spoke of current GE challenges and some projects from the past. Although I can recall each like it was yesterday, I kept my pledge secret in case I did not make the grade. There are few times in life I can trace complete envy of desiring a couple of traits to that fine table of future engineers and thinkers with great clarity sitting right next to me. Thus began my day-by-day, minute-by-minute, shredding of the self-doubt to meet that milestone. The longest journey thus begins with a willing pair of ears, for I had little else, detecting a quiet passion in Harvey's description of how to make it right and complete. While some of Harvey's efforts made it to the USAF Museum, at least one other work-in-progress escaped into the wild from that supper table.
