Obituary of Robert E. Kelly

Robert E. Kelly, 68, of Country Road, died Friday, October 8, 2010 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center. He was born on October 14, 1941, a son of the late James L. and Margaret E. Farmer Kelly and graduated from UFA. On May 5, 1973 he married Diane Janicke. Bob worked at Associated Textiles for many years. He loved spending time with his grandchildren. He was very proud of his grandson's achievements in sports. Bob also relished being cared for by his daughter Michelle and granddaughter Mariah who was the "apple of his eye". He also enjoyed motorcycles and the time he spent at TNT Cycle as "Uncle Bob". He is survived by his wife, Diane; his children, Joey Janicke of Utica, Jimmy and Lorie Kelly of FL, Robin Kelly and Ken Curcio of Utica, Michelle Kelly of Utica and Lyn Geigel and Danny Lugo of Utica; his grandchildren, Shane, Anthony, Mariah and Juan "G"; his brothers and sister and their spouses, James and Eileen Kelly of Ohio, Ronald and Maxine Kelly of Utica, Sherwin "Chuck" and Joanna Kelly of Westmoreland and Sharon and Jack Nester of Clinton; sister-in-law, Diane Kelly of Whitesboro; brother-in-law, Kenneth Grabeldinger of AL; brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Peter, Chuck, Thomas, Shirley and Debbie; many nieces and nephews and his lifelong friend, Teddy Grabowski. He was predeceased by his sisters and brother-in-law, Gracia Ann "Ray" Grabeldinger, Mary Elizabeth "Betty" and William Loveland and a brother Richard D. Kelly. Funeral Services will be held at 7pm Monday, October 11, 2010 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St, Clinton. Friends are invited to call Monday from 4pm until the time of the service. Burial will be at 10am Tuesday at St. Mary's Cemetery. The family thanks Dr. Kandiah, Dr, Wassel, Dr. Kaul and CNY Cardiology, Matt LaBella and Deb Clarey for the special care given to Bob and his family and to Dave, Bill and the entire staff of the ICU.
