Obituary of Mildred Getchonis

Mildred Getchonis of Dwight Ave, Clinton passed away Thursday, October 7, 2010. She was born September 25, 1920 in Deansboro, a daughter of the late Fred and Amelia Alberding Klotzback and graduated from Waterville Central School and Excelsior School of Business. Mildred married John Getchonis on January 13, 1945 and moved to Clinton in 1950. He predeceased her on November 11, 1994 after nearly 50 years of marriage. She was employed in area banks and a Tupperware manager for 25 years, retiring in 1985. Mildred then worked for 14 years at Zogby International. She was a member of the Deansboro United Methodist Church, Schooltown Questers and Clinton Historical Society. Surviving are her granddaughter, Amanda Palmer, who made her home with Mildred; grandson John Palmer; sister-in-law, Martha Getson of Syracuse; many nieces and nephews and many other loving family and friends. Funeral services will be held at 11am Monday, October 11, 2010 at Deansboro United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Deansboro Cemetery.
