Peter H. Pavlot, 69, passed away at home on June 4, 2022, surrounded by his loving family. He was born in Herkimer on December 6, 1952, the son of the late Peter and Ernestine (Waite) Pavlot Jr. He was married to Amy Hoyer on July 9, 1977. Peter was a hard-working and dedicated employee of Mt. Markham Central School. He was a past member and first assistant chief of West Winfield Fire Department. Peter was always on the go! After his retirement, he enjoyed working at Cedar Lake Club and Scenic View Campground. He is survived by his wife, Amy Pavlot; his son and fiancée, Justin Pavlot and Emily Atkyns; two sisters, Ruth Ann Barrett and Woody, and Dorothy Pavlot; mother-in-law, Zelpha Hoyer; brother-in-law and his wife James and Trish Hoyer; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins. Peter was awaiting the birth of his first grandchild. He was predeceased by his parents; his Aunt Sophy; his father-in-law, Len Hoyer; and brother-in-law, Howard J. Barrett. Per his wishes, there will be no public services. He will be honored by his family on a future date. Funeral arrangements are by his cousin, Deli Rogers and Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service. Please consider a donation in Peter’s memory to West Winfield Fire Department or Hospice & Palliative Care. The family thanks Tammy Simmons and Cory Barrett for all their help, the Mt. Markham School community and grounds crew for their love and support, and to Roger and Chrissy of Loose Moose for their support, all their many friends who were always there when they needed them.
