Obituary of Joyce P. Abrams
Please share a memory of Joyce to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
Our mother, Joyce Pfrang Abrams, had a joyous reunion with our father, Tom Abrams, her parents and sisters on Wednesday, December 1, 2021.
Joyce was born on May 21, 1928 in Wausau, Wisconsin to Lloyd and Leona Eagen Pfrang. Joyce and her family lived in Michigan, Oklahoma, Florida and Wisconsin, and attended 13 different schools. Joyce considered Oconto, Wisconsin her home and loved to return to visit her friends.
Joyce met Tom Abrams on a blind date when they both worked for the NY Telephone Co in Troy, NY. They were married on May 12, 1951 in Iron River, Michigan. They lived in Glens Falls, NY until 1964 when they moved to Clinton, NY.
Joyce loved to sew, bake, golf and work in her flower garden. She was very involved in the Clinton United Methodist Church as a nursery school teacher and headed many holiday bazaars and luncheons. People waited to purchase one of her hand painted Christmas tree ornaments! Joyce could often be heard singing or whistling!
Our father passed away on August 29, 1983. Joyce is survived by her three children: Tom (Denver, CO), Todd (Kathleen, Medway, MA), Tracy (Clinton) and one grandson, Christopher (Medway, MA). We will miss her every day.
We would like to thank the staff of Seneca 3 at the Presbyterian Home, especially Karen, Jackie, Sue and Bonnie. Thank you to the staff at Brookdale Memory Care also. Thank you all for your compassion, guidance and humor.
Joyce would love for any donations to be given in her honor to the Clinton United Methodist Women.
We love you, Mom. You are whole.
All are invited to call from 10-11am Saturday, December 11, 2021 at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton and stay for a Celebration of Joyce’s Life at 11am. She will be buried at Sunset Hill Cemetery.
