Obituary of Mary Elizabeth Kilby

Mary Elizabeth Kilby (90) passed away in Seminole, Florida on Nov 27, 2015. She was born in Clinton, NY on June 23, 1925. She graduated from Clinton, NY High School in 1942 and Cornell University where she earned a BS in 1947 and a MS in 1959. For most of her career, Mary worked as a Registered Dietitian in the food service industry. She worked for many companies and organizations including Marriott Corporation. She was honored as a 50 year member of the American Dietetic Association. Along with David Kilby and the rest of the Kilby Family she helped fund the Kilby Family Scholarship Fund that is awarded to college bound Clinton Central High School Graduates. Financial support was provided to 49 graduated of the Class of 2016. Mary was a lifelong and faithful member of the Christian Missionary Alliance Church. In retirement, Mary helped care for her Aunt Minnie Beck and her brother-in-law Hilton Jacobson. She is preceded in death by her parents Christian Marinus and Ella Catherine Kilby, her sister Ina Jacobson (Hilton) and her brother Paul C. Kilby. She was survived by David Marinus Kilby (who recently passed away in Seminole, Fl.), her nieces and nephews; Eric Kilby (Nancy) of Palatine, IL; Alan Kilby (Ann) of South Portland, ME; Maren Cesarini (Richard) of Clearwater, Fl; Donald Jacobson (Patty) of Baldwinsville, NY; Richard Jacobson (Misha) of Eugene, OR; and many grand-nephews and grand-nieces. A memorial service for Mary and her brother David Marinus Kilby will be held at 11am on Aug 25, 2016 at Owens, Pavlot, & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton, NY. Mary will be interred at Sunset Hill Cemetery in Clinton, NY.
