Obituary of Margaret M. Wenke

Margaret M. "Peg" Wenke, 93, a former resident of Yorkville, passed away on, Monday, August 24, 2009 at the Martin Luther Nursing Home. She was born November 10, 1915 in New Hartford, a daughter of Charles and Anna Lenahan McCarthy and attended New Hartford Central School. On July 28, 1934, she was united in marriage to Robert H. Wenke at St. John the Evangelist Church. The couple previously lived in Yorkville, New Hartford and Whitesboro. Margaret worked at Dodge City for many years. In her retirement, she enjoyed winters in Myrtle Beach and golfing. She was a member of Our Lady of the Rosary Church in New Hartford, the Kirkland Senior Citizens and the Westmoreland Golf League. She is survived by her son, Dale A. Wenke of Worthington, OH; son-in-law, Stanley "Stash" Babiarz of Yorkville; seven grandchildren and their spouses, Stanley and Lori Babiarz of Yorkville, Robert and Amanda Babiarz of Morgantown, WV, Geralyn "Sissy" and Scott Shaffer of Morgantown, WV, Dr. Mark and Brenda Babiarz of Yorkville, Michael and Candice Babiarz of Greenwich, CT, Stephen and Joanne Babiarz of Yorkville and Brian Wenke of Hollywood, CA; twelve precious great-grandchildren, Breanna and Aleesa Babiarz, Michael Ryan Babiarz, Cari Ann and Blake Shaffer, Brittney Millis, Brendan and Marcus Babiarz, Russell, Mitchell and Campbell Babiarz and Christian Babiarz ; a sister Bernice McKeon of New Hartford and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband Robert in 2001; daughter Barbara Babiarz this past May; and her sister Helen Lloyd. A Memorial Mass will be held at 9am Saturday, August 29, 2009 at Our Lady of the Rosary Church, Burrstone Rd, New Hartford with Rev. Felix Colosimo officiating. There will be no public calling hours. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery, Clinton.
