Obituary of Clara Jane Moloughney

Clara Jane Coleman Moloughney, 88, of Clinton, died Monday, August 17, 2009 at St. Elizabeth Medical Center.
She was born in Milwaukee, Wisconsin on December 22, 1920, a daughter of Joseph and Rose Heisdorf and graduated from Holy Angels Academy. She lived briefly in Chicago Heights, IL, Bethel Boro, PA and was a long time resident of Freeport, NY. In 1941, she married Thomas P. Coleman in Milwaukee. He was a newspaper executive with the Associated Press in Milwaukee, Chicago, Pittsburgh and NYC. Mr. Coleman died in 1971. She was married to Walter Moloughney in Freeport, NY in 1975 until his death in 1982. She lived in Clinton House Apartments for over 25 years and the Clinton Manor for the past year and a half and was a longtime parishioner of St. Mary's Church. Clara was a talented self-taught pianist who loved playing classical music for her many friends and family members. She also enjoyed international travel and visited Hong Kong, Tokyo, Ireland, Czech Republic, Germany and Austria.
She is survived by her five children and their spouses, Thomas Patrick and Winnie Coleman of Englewood, FL; Michael Coleman and Margheta Nelson of Melbourne, FL; Carol Coleman and Jackson Stewart of Chattanooga, TN; Mary Coleman of Chattanooga, TN; and Claire Catherine and Ted Chmielewski of Clinton; seven grandchildren, Thomas Peter and Kim Coleman, Julianne and Todd Kemp, Robert and Tracey Coleman, Susan and Rick Olesek, Ted and Anne Chmielewski, Catherine Chmielewski and Matthew Chmielewski; and twelve great-grandchildren. She was also predeceased by her siblings, Arthur Heisdorf and Olive Heisdorf McKenzie.
Funeral services will be held at 10am Thursday, August 20, 2009 at St. Mary's Church, Clinton, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to call (Today) Wednesday from 5-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St., Clinton.
