Obituary of George Andrew Morrill

George A. Morrill, 68, of Seneca Turnpike, passed away Friday, April 2, 2010 with his family by his side.
He was born in Gloversville, a son of Margaret Klute Manzer and graduated from Gloversville High School. He served in the US Marine Corps as a radio telegraph operator. On December 8, 1962 he married Sandra Lee Terpenning - a union of 40 years until her death on January 8, 2003. George retired as a warehouse manager for Herb Philipson's distribution center. He was an active member of Clark Mills American Legion Post #26, where he served as Bar Steward for several years. George had also been a member of Clinton United Methodist Church. He was a fan of the NY Yankees and NY Giants. He was an avid golfer and bowler - and proud of the 300 game he threw. He played cards with his friends, right up until last week.
He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Cathy and Chris Cucharale of Westmoreland; his son Michael B. Morrill and his special friend Dawn Moschella of Clinton; two beloved grandchildren, Deanna and Daniel Cucharale; his brother and sister-in-law, Kenneth and Sally Manzer of Appalachia; his mother-in-law, Mary Terpenning of Clinton; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Cathy and Ray White of Chadwicks and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his wife Sandra, his mother Margaret Manzer and his father-in-law, Burt Terpenning.
Graveside services with military honors will be held at 11am Friday, April 9, 2010 at Sunset Hill Cemetery, Clinton. Friends are invited to memorial calling hours Thursday from 4-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Inc, 35 College St. Clinton. Clark Mills American Legion Post 26 will conduct services Thursday at 6:30pm.
