Obituary of Mary E. Evans

Mary E. Evans, 97, of Meckler Rd, passed away Saturday, May 24, 2008 at Faxton-St. Lukes Hospital. She was born in Boonville on April 15, 1911, a daughter of the late William and Gertrude Hotaling Kennedy and grew up in Utica. In 1950 she married Adelbert F. Evans. Mr. Evans died July 7, 1971. Mary was the vice president of the union at Mele Manufacturing and then worked at Marcy State Hospital for many years. She enjoyed crocheting and loved spending time outdoors. She is survived by her daughters and a son-in-law, Betty and Leon Lust of Utica and Doris Dwyer of Frankfort; four grandchildren and their spouses, Judy Lust of CA, Don and Sharon Lust of CT, Lori Lust of Whitesboro and David Lust and his fiance Phyllis Avery of Poland; a great-grandson David Lust; many nieces and nephews; her special buddies, Benj, Muffin, Boots, Buffy and Spunky; and her special friends Pat and Alex Sarnacki, Martha Tamer, Mary DeFondi and Debra Bower Funeral services will be held Thursday, May 29, 2008 at 9:30am from Owens-Pavlot Funeral Service, Inc., 35 College St., Clinton and 10am at St. Marys Church where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Friends may call Wednesday from 4-7pm. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Please consider donations to the Herkimer Humane Society.
