Obituary of Keith A. Hoyt

Keith A. Hoyt, 67

On August 14, 2026, Keith A. Hoyt of Clinton, New York, passed away peacefully after a courageous battle with cancer, surrounded by his family.

Keith was born on December 25, 1958, to Francis and Evelyn Hoyt at Nassau Hospital on Long Island, New York. He attended W Tresper Clark in Westbury, New York, and graduated in 1977.

On January 16, 1981, Keith married the love of his life, Julia Farrington. After welcoming their three children on Long Island, Keith and Julia moved their family to Clinton in 1986, where they raised their children and built their life together.

Keith worked for various companies throughout his career, but his favorite job of all was being a grandpa. He was known by his family and friends as a true jack of all trades, the person you could always count on to fix just about anything. Keith was always willing to lend a hand, share his knowledge, and help anyone who needed it. His greatest joy, however, was spending time with his family, especially his six grandchildren, who meant the world to him.

Keith is survived by his beloved wife of 45 years, Julia Hoyt; his three children, Jaclyn (Jason) Fahey of Port Leyden, Frank (Michelle) Hoyt of Yorkville, and Kelly (Carl) Hoyt of Utica; and his six grandchildren, Hannah, Raelynn, Joseph, Ryder, Elizabeth, and Carter.

He is also survived by his sister, Barbara (Bill) Hassis of Whitesboro; his brother, Gary (Jackie) Hoyt of Vernon; his niece, Jennifer (Brandon) Perry of South Carolina; his great-nephew, Zachary, of South Carolina; and his two brothers-in-law and their families.

Keith was predeceased by his parents, Francis and Evelyn Hoyt; his oldest brother, Frank Hoyt; his brother-in-law, James Farrington; and his wife’s parents, Percy and Barbara Farrington.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt gratitude to all the staff at Wynn Hospital in Utica for the exceptional care Keith received during the final month of his life. A special thank you goes to the nursing staff on 3 West and 7 West for the compassionate care they provided to Keith during his final week and for the kindness, support, and comfort they extended to his family while they were by his side.

Per Keith’s wishes, there will be no services.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly asks that donations be made in Keith’s memory to the American Cancer Society or the MVHS Cancer Center.
