We did not know about Burt's passing, until we just saw the funeral procession with all of the Seymour trucks today in Westmoreland. We are deeply deeply saddened and shocked. Almost 4 years ago when my wife and i were looking for a new home we came across Burt and the whole Seymour family. Things couldn't have been any better, and we found out first hand how infectious his humor was, how high his standards were, and how far reaching his business dealings were. I could go anywhere and mention Burt's name in the conversation, and everyone...i mean everyone knew him or of him.
We saw a sign today driving down Route 233 that said "Legend". That is so true.
My wife and I were blessed to know him for a short period of time, but for a lifetime all at the same time.

Burt was truly a one-of-a-kind man. He was the kind of person who would give you the shirt off his back without ever thinking twice. He had a heart bigger than most, and I feel incredibly lucky to have known him.
Burt helped me find myself in so many ways. He always knew when I needed a little tough love, and he never hesitated to give it to me. Looking back, I realize just how much those conversations, lessons, and moments meant to me.
Working at Seymour’s will always hold a special place in my heart. I loved joking around with “Big Daddy,” sharing laughs, and, just as much, sitting down and having those deep conversations that I’ll carry with me forever. I’ll never forget the last conversation we had, and I’m so grateful I got to have it.
You left an impact on my life that will never fade. You are forever in my heart, Burt. I love you, and I’ll miss you more than words can say.
The world lost an incredible man and an even greater human being. Thank you for being you, for believing in me, and for leaving a piece of yourself with everyone lucky enough to know you.

So sorry to hear about Burt’s passing. We went to high school together and have stayed in touch all these years through both of our businesses. His excavation business and mine at Yorkville Battery. He sometimes delegated his authority by sending his help down to pick up a battery but when he came down himself we would always sit and talk for a while. I’ve always said we “don’t have customers, we have friends that we do business with!” From all of us here at Yorkville Battery our sincere condolences to his family

So sorry to hear about the passing of Burt. I have so many fond memories of growing up with Burt and family. Softball games at the farm dodging cow patties to floor hockey in the hayloft to putting his dad's tractor in Clark's pond clearing the snow for hockey. So many good times. Dear Seymour Family, Where does one even begin? My heart is broken. Burt is going to be missed by so so many people. He was truly one of kind!! We had so many laughs and fun times together, that it would take a year to write them all down.
