Obituary of Anthony E. Mariotti

He was born May 2, 1949, in Ilion, the son of Anthony E. and Helen (Zawko) Mariotti, Sr.  Tony graduated from West Winfield High School in 1968. He enlisted in the United States Air Force, serving his country from 1968-1972, and rose to the rank of Staff Sergeant E4.  Tony was united in marriage to Judith Bowen on August 2, 1974. They recently celebrated 52 years of love and devotion.  Tony worked for Strandflex for many years and then retired from Indium in 2015.  He was a member and Past Commander of the Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9591, member of American Legion Post 26 in Clark Mills, Past President of Local 1787 International Association of Machinists and enjoyed a good round of golf at the Westmoreland Golf Course.  Tony never met a stranger, so he was the perfect volunteer as a driver with the VA Clinic in Rome where he transported fellow veterans to their appointments and the residents at the Presbyterian Home.

He will be missed by his wife Judy; his daughter Sara Mariotti Ancrum and her husband Tony Ancrum; son Nicholas Mariotti; grandchildren, Tyre and Hannah Ancrum; sister Denise Mariotti and her husband James Gigliotti (deceased); nephews Trevis and Derek Gigliotti; and sister Tracy Mariotti Clements and her husband Chris Clements and daughter Sophia Clements.

He was predeceased by his parents

All are invited to call Thursday from 2pm – 5pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton.  A prayer service will follow visitation at the funeral home. Please join family and friends at the American Legion Post 26 in Clark Mills following calling hours.
