Obituary of William W. Thomas

William W. Thomas, 84, a Clinton resident, passed away Monday, April 28, 2008 at the Siegenthaler Center. He was born August 12, 1923 in Syracuse, the son of Wallace and Leona Smith Thomas. He graduated from Cornell University and was a member of Sigma Chi fraternity. In 1947, he married Helen Joyce Kelly. Mrs. Thomas died January 9, 2003. Bill retired from NY Air Brake Co in Watertown after many years as a foundry supervisor. Bill had a great love of the St. Lawrence where he was a summer resident in Fineview, NY (Wellesley Island). He is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Patricia and Roy Smith of N. Weymouth, MA; his son and daughter-in-law, Richard and Linda Thomas of Clinton; six grandchildren, Carole Smith, Wendy Smith Martin, Stephen Smith, Elizabeth Thomas Louder, Timothy Thomas and Martha Thomas Laraby; two great-grandchildren, Caroline and Teddy Martin; and his sister Nancy Thomas VonHohenleiten of NC. A memorial service will be held at 10am Saturday, May 3, 2008 in the Norton Room at Stone Presbyterian Church, S. Park Row, Clinton. Burial will be in Riverside Cemetery, Wellesley Island.
