Obituary of Phyllis B. DeLaney

Phyllis B. DeLaney, 95, passed away August 4, 2026, at home surrounded by her loving family.

She was born August 19, 1930, in Malone, NY, the daughter of Myron and Alexina Brown. Phyllis married Joseph K. DeLaney on May 31, 1952, and they settled in Westmoreland, NY. She was a devout Catholic who dedicated her life in service to the Blessed Mother. She was lector, a Eucharistic Minister and a member of the Altar Rosary Society at the Church of the Annunciation, Clark Mills, NY. Phyllis was given the gift of song, and it was in her music she found peace and happiness. She sang in the choir at Annunciation and was a member of the group Exodus and she shared her love of music with her family. Phyllis was a selfless, devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother.

She is survived by 5 children, 12 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren, her sister Lucille Internicola and many nieces and nephews. Phyllis was predeceased by her husband Joseph, two daughters, Michelle and Nancy, son, David and grandson Andrew.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11am Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at Church of the Annunciation in Clark Mills. All are invited to call from 10am-11am at church prior to the Mass. Her burial will be in Westmoreland Union Cemetery. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Clinton.
