Betty A. Crawford
Betty Ann Crawford, born in Utica, New York, on June 1, 1930, peacefully departed this life on Friday, July 2, 2026, at the age of 96. Her final years were spent at the Waterville Residential Care Center, where she was cared for with remarkable kindness, respect, and compassion, allowing her to live each day in comfort and with dignity.
Betty's career was marked by hard work, dedication, and a willingness to serve in many different capacities. Of all the paths she pursued, none brought her greater joy than her work as a baker and cake decorator at Holland Farms in Clinton, New York. Through her craftsmanship, attention to detail, and passion for baking, she found a profession that was both meaningful and deeply rewarding.
A woman of faith, Betty was a dedicated member of St. George's Episcopal Church in Chadwicks, NY, where she found fellowship, spiritual guidance, and a welcoming church family.
Betty's greatest joy in life was her family, whom she loved unconditionally and supported with unwavering devotion. She treasured every moment spent with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchild, creating memories that will forever be cherished by those fortunate enough to know her.
She is lovingly survived by her children, Karen Crawford, Clinton, Robert (Debbie) Crawford of Florida, Kathleen (John) Steates of Sauquoit, NY, and Kevin (Donna) Crawford, Otego, NY. She also leaves behind seven beloved grandchildren, each of whom brought her immeasurable pride and happiness, as well as her cherished great-grandchildren, and one great- great grandchild.
She was predeceased by her beloved parents, Leslie and Catherine (Jones) Shephard; her brother, Martin Shephard; and her sister, Helen Richards.
Those who knew and loved Betty are invited to gather in remembrance of a life well lived, to share in the comfort of family and friends, and to celebrate the many memories she leaves behind. Visitation will be held on Thursday, July 9, 2026, from 12 P.M. until 1 P.M. at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College Street, Clinton, NY.
A funeral service celebrating her life will immediately follow. Betty will be peacefully laid to rest at Sauquoit Valley Cemetery beside her beloved sister, Helen (Albert) Richards.
Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service of Clinton, New York, who are honored to serve Betty and her family during this time of tribute.
