Obituary of Walter T. Jury
Walter T. Jury, 84, passed away peacefully on June 10, 2026, with his loving wife Peggy by his side.
He was born June 18, 1941, in Chadwicks, a son of the late Walter J. and Gladys (Addington) Jury. Walt grew up in Chadwicks and graduated with the Class of 1959. He enlisted in the United States Navy after graduation and served four years in the Pacific aboard the USS Durant and the USS Koiner. Upon discharge, he was employed at Special Metals in New Hartford. In 1966, he was united in marriage to Carole Trimbey with whom he had three children. Carole died in 1990. Walt was married to Peggy Ascenzi in 1993. Walt served his community at the Clinton Historical Society, Clinton Lions Club, St. Mary’s Church, and formerly with the New Hartford Jay Cees. He enjoyed his time with the Friday Morning Breakfast Club and volunteering at the Country Pantry.
He is survived by his wife Peggy; his three children and their spouses, Walter Todd and Janet Jury, Jennifer and Chris Cobb, and Meredith and Jeremy Lopata; his stepchildren, David and Maria Forbes, John and Allie Forbes, Sarah and Jim Dinneen; grandchildren, Madison and Logan Cota, Max, Mya and Georgia Dinneen, Wyatt and Delilah Forbes, Tyler and Carole Jury, and Mia and Chelsea Lopata. He was predeceased by his parents, his sister Elaine Pope, his brother Stanley Jury and his wife Carole Jury.
All are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial at 11am Thursday, June 18, 2026, at St. Mary’s Church in Clinton. There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service.
