Obituary of Christopher F. Hawkins

Christopher F. Hawkins, 68, passed away on April 19, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family.

He was born September 13, 1957, a son of Paul Clessin and Fredericka (Barkett) Hawkins.  Chris was a well-respected local electrical contractor. On November 4, 2000, he was married to Luisa Colletti. They shared many years filled with love, family and friends. Chris was a commanding presence whenever he entered a room.  He lived life on his own terms and was gifted with wit and brought sarcasm to a higher art form. He was an amazing chef who loved to cook for family and friends. He was loving father, loyal friend, and an independent thinker.  Chris was a talented musician, singer, and songwriter. He loved playing music with his friends and entertaining the crowd.He was fiercely protective of his family and always put them first.

His absence will be deeply felt by his wife Luisa; his daughters, Amanda Hawkins (Joey Moore) of Asheville, NC, Chivon Winter (Alex Emond) of West Monroe, and Elaina Hawkins of Holland Patent; granddaughter Emilia Winter; his brother and sister-in-law, Mitchell and Maryann Hawkins of Clinton; many loving in-laws, nieces and nephews; and his canine companions, Dora and Tater.  He is preceded by his parents and sister Paula Hawkins.

All are invited to call from 5-7pm Monday, April 27, 2026, at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11am Tuesday, April 28, 2026, at St. Mary’s Church in Clinton. He will be buried at St. Mary’s Cemetery.  All are welcome to join the family at their home in Holland Patent for a celebration of life following the funeral services. Please consider donations in Chris’s memory to St. Jude’s.
