Obituary of Christina Erika Burk

Christina Erika (née Getz) Burk, 63, of Maryville, Illinois, passed away on April 1, 2026, at Barnes-Jewish Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.

She was born on July 25, 1962, in Berlin, Germany, to the late Stanley James and Erika Irmela (née Scheinert) Getz. Christina built a life defined by dedication, integrity, and service. She was a Certified Public Accountant and the proud owner of Accelerated Accounting in Maryville, where she served her clients and community with professionalism and care.

Christina also honorably served her country in the United States Air Force, a chapter of her life that reflected her strength, and discipline.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Greg Getz.

She is lovingly remembered by her three children: Marissa Shea Burk of North Carolina, Taylor Elise Burk of St. Charles, Missouri, and Connor James Joseph Burk of Nashville, Tennessee. She is also survived by her three brothers: Eric Getz; Steven Getz (Petra Scherber); and Patrick “Jimmie” Getz (Melissa), along with extended family and friends who will cherish her memory.

Christina will be cremated and services will be determined at a later date. The family was cared for by Barry Wilson Funeral Home, Maryville, IL
