Obituary of Diane E. McNamara

Diane E. McNamara, “Di” 73, passed away at home on March 24, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

She was born July 10, 1952, a daughter of Carl G. and Anna (Siedsma) Christ. Diane graduated from Clinton Central School with the Class of 1970.  She was united in marriage to her sweetheart, Thomas McNamara on July 11, 1970.

Diane drove school bus for many years and in 1983 joined her mother working in the school cafeteria. She loved working with the kids and knew most by name. She retired as the manager after pretty much 40 years of service. She also served as Past President of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary and organized many functions. Diane loved spending time with her family. Nothing brought more joy to her life than being a grandmother and great-grandmother.

She is survived by her husband Tom; her children, Tammy Simzer and Jason Huntley, Lisa and Barry Oaksford, and Adam and Melissa McNamara; her beloved grandchildren, Trevor and Natalie Simzer, Kacie Simzer, Tyler and Stephanie Oaksford, Jon Michael Oaksford and Sadie Klumpp, Kaylee Oaksford, Taylor McNamara and Brandon Woodruff, and Anna McNamara and Wyatt Reed; her cherished great-grandchildren, TJ Simzer, Charlotte and Amelia Oaksford; her brothers and sisters, Cynthia Callahan, Kurt Christ and Jane McNamara, Carol and Mark Boehlert, Deborah and Kevin Franz, Sharon and Henry Lewis, and Matt and Laurie Christ; her in-laws, John and Artys McNamara, and Jim and Rosa McNamara; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her son Keith in 2004, her parents, and her brother-in-law, William Callahan.

All are invited to call Wednesday, April 1, 2026, from 3-6pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton. Services will follow at 6pm.
