Warren I. Evans
Warren I. Evans 93, of Clinton, passed away peacefully on December 5, 2025, at the Waterville Residential Care Center in Waterville. He was born on August 17, 1932, in Clinton, NY a son of the late David and Florence Evans. Warren was a graduate of Clinton Senior High School Class of 1951, following graduation he proudly enlisted in the United States Navy where he served as an ariel photographer. During his enlistment he sailed the Mediterranean with deployments in the Philippines, Japan, Hawaii and even filming fireworks in Hong Kong on New Years Eve. He was a member of the Stone Presbyterian Church of Clinton, VFW Post 9591 of Clinton and American Legion Post 569 of Oriskany Falls N.Y.
Upon returning home from the Navy, Warren was employed by M&M Dry Cleaners of Utica. The owners gave him a loan to purchase the Village Tavern in Clinton. After he sold the Village Tavern, he worked for Castelletti GMC and Pontiac of Rome. Warren was a true entrepreneur; aside from the Village Tavern he owned Get Stoned Masonry in Clinton and several other businesses, including Seamco Stone when he lived in Florida and Texas.
Warren is survived by several nieces and nephews, a sister-in-law Nancy Evans; along with many special friends. He was predeceased by brothers; Harold “Hector” (Patty) Brewer, Kenny Brewer, Howard Brewer, Chuck Brewer, Bobby Brewer, Carlton Brewer; a sister, Betty “Larry” Dunn; a nephews Brian Brewer and John Evans.
A Memorial Service will be held on Friday, December 12, 2025, at 11am at the Stone Presbyterian Church in Clinton. The family will greet guests from 10am to 11am at the church prior to the service. Interment will take place in Westmoreland Cemetery. A Celebration of Life will held at the VFW Post 9591 in Clinton following church services.
In lieu of flowers donate to a charity of your choice. A special thank you to Waterville Residential Care staff and Wynn Hospital for the care given to Warren.
