Obituary of Patricia Ann English

Patricia Ann English, 69, passed away on December 1, 2025, with her family by her side.

Patricia was born on May 16, 1956, the daughter of the late Neil Cass Sr. and Gertrude Cass. In school, she met the love of her life, Joel Edgar English. One simple ride together began their beautiful life as a couple. They were married on July 23, 1974, and were blessed with two wonderful sons.
Patricia worked for many years at Nice and Easy in Vernon, NY. She later continued her career in the kitchen as a baker at Vernon Downs, where she formed many cherished friendships. She loved spending time with her family and could always be found by the pool during the warm summer months.

Patricia is survived by her two sons and their spouses, Newton and Sara English, Jess and Cathy English, and her sister-in-law Samantha and Robert VandenBosch; her nephew Zachary VandenBosch; her niece Sarah and Jeffrey Murray and their son, Parker. Close people in Pat's life, Chris Humphrey, Preston Kelley, Amanda Humphrey, Rock Schneider, Bristol Jasiewicz, Billy Humphrey and Amanda Page and Bill Humphrey. She leaves behind her two beloved grandchildren, who lovingly called her “Mema”: her grandson, Dillon English, with whom she shared countless fun memories, and his girlfriend Heather Robertson; and her granddaughter, Emma English, whom Patricia said she had waited for her whole life.

In keeping with Patricia's wishes, there will be no public services.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to Kim Todd and the incredible staff at The Abraham House in Rome. Their compassion, kindness, and the comfort they provided made Patricia feel truly at home.
