Obituary of Edna (Gogola) Fukes
Edna (Gogola) Fukes, 95, passed away peacefully on September 24, 2025.
She was born December 2, 1929, a daughter of Peter and Eva (Madore) Theriault. Edna was married to Edward Gogola for over 37 years until his passing in 1987. Together, they raised their family and shared a blessed union of love and devotion. In 1997, she was married to John Fukes for 23 years. Edna was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great-grandmother. She loved to dote on her children and grandchildren. For many years, Edna and Ed welcomed foster children into their home to give these children the love and support they needed. She worked at Lutheran Care for many years and in the local area as a caregiver. She enjoyed her time and trips with the Whitestown Seniors.
She will be missed by her two sons, a daughter and their spouses, Thomas and Patricia Gogola of Florida, David Gogola of New Hartford, and Kathleen and Daniel Zoeckler of Clinton; nine beloved grandchildren, Matt and Kristina Gogola, Cory Gogola, Julie Gogola and Mike Murphy, David and Angelina Gogola, Dana Gogola and Roy Richards, Angela and Jason Fistick, Amanda and Jim Darling, Daniel Zoeckler II and Nicole Peña, Alicia and Ben Castle; her sixteen cherished great-grandchildren, Ethan Gogola, Bryan Foster and Bri Amodio, Joey, Chase and Christian Gogola, RJ Richards, Jason Jr. and Kara Fistick, Savannah Fistick and Shea Simons, Anthony Mould lll and Kaitlyn Salisbury , Logan Darling, Hannah Castle, Bryce Darling, Christopher Peña, Ava Castle, Autumn Darling, and Leonardo Zoeckler; and to her delight, three great-great-grandchildren, Layton and Ellorie Fistick and Saige Hartle ; her brother and sister-in-law, Richard and Barbara Theriault of Florida; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husbands, Edward Gogola and John Fukes; her sisters, Lena Elmer and Anna (Bickford) Finlayson, and her daughter-in-law, Trina Gogola.
All are invited to call Sunday, September 28, 2025, from 3-5pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Monday at St. Mary’s Church in Clinton. She will be laid to rest in St. Mary’s Cemetery.
