Henry Healy Jr.

Obituary of Henry R. Healy Jr.

Henry R. “Hank” Healy, 82, passed away at home, surrounded by the love of his family on September 9, 2025.

He was born on December 30, 1942, in Jamaica Queens, NY, a son of the late Henry R. and Ella (Smith) Healy.  Hank proudly served his country in the United State Air Force, from 1962-1970, serving some of that time in the Vietnam War. When he returned home, he went to work for many years as a Switching Technician for the New York Telephone Company which over the years would become Verizon. Hank was a father of three when he met the love of his life, Linda Marie Attili. On August 17, 1979, he and Linda married and grew their family with one more son.

Hank had many hobbies, he enjoyed the outdoors, mostly fishing, hunting and shooting his pistol. For many years he had a large garden where he grew vegetables to feed his family and would proudly share his crops with family, neighbors and even healthcare providers. He played guitar and sang and loved sitting on the front porch to watch the sunset and overlook the neighborhood, usually with a cold beer in hand. He was very handy and could fix anything from cars to electrical and masonry. He was a member of the New Hartford American Legion Post #1273 and the Telephone Pioneers of America.

He is survived by his children, Jim (May) Healy, Scott (Pooniel) Healy, Patricia Healy, and Todd (Julie) Healy; his brothers, Don (Joyce) Healy, Jerry (Irene) Healy; sister, Lillian Healy; In-laws Jerry Attili, Lucy (Guy) Viti, JoAnn Attili, Jeana (Ray) DiFondi, Michele (Tom) Vanno and his beloved K-9 Yoda. He will remain in the hearts of his large loving extended family and friends. He was predeceased by his loving wife Linda Healy, his parents Henry and Ella Healy, and father-in-law and mother-in-law Jerry and Lena Attili and a sister-in-law Mary Rose Attili.
