I taught Owen in his first year at Woodberry Forest School. We developed a close relationship, and we stayed in touch with each other after he graduated from Woodberry Forest. We exchanged dozens of emails over the years. I am deeply saddened by his death, and I will miss him. He was a very special young man. I send my condolences and my love to his family. The attached photo was talken on the front porch of the Walker Building, the main building of Woodberry Forest when Owen visited in 2019.

There wasn’t much to do in our free time at Spring Lake Ranch but Owen and I would try to make the best of it by playing Settlers of Catan, nhl hockey video games and playing ping pong! He was always a great competitor. Which was very evident when on a putt putt outing where he beat me to take first place! He was a legend by making 3 hole in ones! The last time I heard from Owen was when we went 50/50 on a FUBO subscription earlier this year and he and I would chat about sports. I miss you Owen and I know you will be missed by others too!! Your personality was infectious in a good way and will remember the good times together! Rest easy my brother!

Condolences - to all the Burns family -We will forever have Owen's smile embedded in our memories of him and Colin always so happy and silly in everything they did. They were just the happiest, fun loving boys together - Julia and I would just roll our eyes and laugh with them. RIP Owen - you are free to just be that silly, happy boy again.
