Arletta Kaler

Obituary of Arletta Kaler

Arletta Jeane Kaler (Langdon)

June 27, 1936 - August 22, 2025

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Arletta on August 22, 2025, in Loxahatchee, Florida.

Arletta was born in Vernon, New York.  She was predeceased by her parents Carl Reeder, and Lillian (Stone) Langdon, and by her loving husband Charles H. Kaler.

She is survived by her children Charles (Susan) Kaler, Nancy (Dave) Schneeberger, Debra (Rich) Rich, Roy (Danilo) Kaler, Bruce Kaler, proud grandmother to Kimberly, Will, James, Sarah, Kristina, Sean, Nick, Emily, Abraham, Jade, and 17 adoring Great-Grandchildren.  She is also survived by her brother, Charles Langdon, and sister, Nancy Davies.

Arletta had a long and fulfilling career as an educator, beginning in a one-room schoolhouse in West Virginia. She went on to teach in elementary schools on Long Island, in Rome, Watertown, and eventually rising to the role of Principal in Carthage, New York.

One of her greatest career accomplishments included publication of her name in the Edition of Who’s Who in American Education.  This publication shows educators who have gone beyond the call of duty in the pursuit of the process of instruction and who have dedicated their careers to the community.

After moving with her husband to Grafton, New Hampshire, she continued as a principal in Campton, and Franklin, until retirement.    She later settled in Florida to be closer to her mother.

Deeply involved in her faith and church, Arletta also embraced life with a love of music, singing, and dancing. She enjoyed arts and crafts, word searches, social gatherings with friends—and took great joy in winning a game of bingo.

Her greatest love, however, was for her family. She will be remembered for her warmth, strength, and the lasting impact she had on all who knew her.

A service will be held on Saturday, September 20, 2025, at 2:00 p.m. at Westmoreland Cemetery, where Arletta will be laid to rest with her beloved husband, mother, and father.
