Obituary of Robert John Morris
Robert “Bob” John Morris, 88, of New Hartford, NY passed away on August 27, 2025. Born on March 17, 1937, he was a son of the late Hobart Morris and Dorothy Hughes Morris. Following graduation from high school Bob proudly enlisted in the United States Marine Corps where he proudly served his country from 1958-1961. Bob was a well-liked salesman for Braden Paper Products (Braden Supply); he was a people person and enjoyed making his customers happy and he had an extremely loyal customer base.
Bob was united in marriage to Rebecca Chase in 1963, together they shared a beautiful life with their children. Bob spent many summers at his family farm and camp in Brookfield; Bob had a lifetime of memories at this special place, and he was blessed to spend and share them with the ones he loved most.
Bob was an avid runner and managed to run the Boilermaker 30 times, he enjoyed working out and staying fit. He loved to sing and was in a Barbershop Chorus where he gifted many people with his talents and enjoyed the friends he made. Bob enjoyed his life and made the best of his time here; but most of all he loved his family, he will fondly be remembered as the doting grandpa, amazing father, and loving husband. Bob and his wife, Becky, were faithful to the church, serving and loving others.
Bob is survived by his wife Rebecca Chase Morris; his son, David (Sue) Morris; his daughter, Catherine (Robert) Garrabrant; his beloved grandchildren, Matthew, Sarah, David Morris Jr., Asa, Ava and Van; great grandchildren, Kenny and Jane as well as many wonderful nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his son, Robert Morris Jr.; a sister, April Reilly, brothers, Edward Morris and Hobart Morris Jr.
Calling hours will be held Friday, October 17th from 4:00-7:00PM at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, Clinton. A Celebration of Life Service will take place at the First United Methodist Church in New Hartford on Saturday, October 18th at 11:00 AM.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation to the First United Methodist Church of New Hartford.
