Mom
Steadfast and loving, you were always in my corner, Someone I trusted; a confidant.
You were always there for me.
You were my Home - the cornerstone of our family; my center.
You created a warm and caring home where animals were as welcome as people.
Your heart was huge. You made every one of us feel loved and special.
Your joie de vivre never diminished. Intelligent, always curious, interested and ready to go!
Its not easy going on without you – I feel lonely and somehow less brave. I have so much to be thankful for - you shaped me into the person I am today. Throughout my entire life you were my most steadfast supporter. You never wavered.
You protected and cherished me throughout my entire life and I love you dearly. I will always be your daughter and you will always be my Mom.
In the days since you passed, when I miss you - I look for you in my heart. I have all of the memories of our life together and when I miss you I bring back all of those feelings, and I know that you will live there with me – forever.

Libby was always there with love and affection, to help us and her grandchildren, Caroline and Lauren when careers or stress burdened us. She would whirl in like a "Tasmanian devil", cooking and cleaning and drinking an occasion glass of wine. She was a force of nature, a pleasure to share time with, and a true southern lady - she will be missed. Pat

My grandmother was my favorite person in the entire world. I have so many memories of her as a child and young adult where she taught me how to truly let my light shine. She nurtured my love and empathy for animals, great and small. No animal was ever to small or pestilent to receive her love and care. From baby mice being kept in the sock drawer to bringing me house mice to be my pets, much to my mother’s chagrin! She lived her life with continual passion, kindness, and grace.
My favourite memory of my grandmother, who I affectionately called Sammy since I was young as I could not pronounce ‘Grammy’, was when she would act as my announcer when I pretended to be a show jumping horse throughout my childhood. I routinely set up household items to jump around the house as a horse, cantering around the living room or backyard on four and later two legs. As a child, my biggest dream was to ride and compete in equestrian show jumping. My grandmother spent countless hours commentating and announcing my rounds as I pretended to be a show horse jumping around a show course. This passion never died and neither has my grandmothers support of my equestrian dreams.
Some of my most touching memories were my grandparents sitting ring side while I won some of my first titles in equestrian show jumping. Often when I sit on a horse I think of my grandmother and her unyielding faith and support of my dreams before anyone knew who I was. The world has lost a bright light but she will continue to shine and light my way through life as I continue to live my life based on her teachings. Sammy, there are no words for how much I miss you and what you mean to me. Until we meet again my dearest grandmother.
“End? No, the journey doesn't end here. Death is just another path, one that we all must take. The grey rain-curtain of this world rolls back, and all turns to silver glass, and then you see it.”

Libby
Wife
Mom
Colleague
Friend
Grandmamma, Grandma, Sammy, Greatgrandmama, aunt Libby, Auntie Libby , Mrs. B.
She was Fierce: in her love for her family; her children, her grandchildren and great grandchild, her nieces, nephews, sister and her husband of 67 years. Mom lived well, loved well and we loved her back.
She was Loyal: to her family, friends, the things she believed in and held dear. She had a way of making us all feel special.
She was Commited: to her community, her church, her choir, and to the many activities that brought her joy.
She wasn't ready, we weren't ready. They say time moves us forward, takes our broken hearts and fills them with sweet memories. There is such a huge void, It's hard to imagine that now; we'll see.

Q: What was one of the qualities of Elizabeth that you loved most?
A: Libby was a beautiful friend with a contagious smile. Libby always had a smile for you. She was kind, generious and a loving person. I know deep down in my heart she will be missed by so many people. I don't know anyone that did not like Libby. I have known Libby for at least 40 years. We first met through our carriers and then church. I will miss her beautiful singing voice and smile. My heart aches from loosing her. She will always remain in my thoughts.'Rest in peace my friend.
