Obituary of Ellen O. Forder
Ellen O. Forder "Babe", 84, formerly of Clark Mills, NY passed away on August 4, 2025. Born on her family farm in Whitestown, NY on November 30, 1940, she was the youngest of seven children born to Howard Oyer and Johanna (Foppes) Oyer. Ellen was a graduate of Whitesboro High School. She was united in marriage to David G. Forder on December 9, 1961, together they shared a beautiful life and four children. She was employed at Clinton Central School in the cafeteria where she enjoyed seeing many smiling faces. She was also employed by Hamilton College. Ellen was a former member of the Clark Mills Fire Department ladies auxillary.
Ellen enjoyed time spent outdoors, she especially loved camping where she was able to embrace all of the beauties of nature. She loved time spent in a kayak on the lake where she could see various forms of wildlife and enjoy the peacefulness of the lake. Ellen took as many opportunities as she could to travel whether it was to a local campsite or a long road trip, Ellen found a way to live her life to the fullest and enjoyed many adventures. Ellen was proud of her children and loved her role as a mother. She was especially proud to be a grandmother and great grandmother, and she cherished the many memories made with her grandchildren.
Ellen is survived by her daughters Colleen (James) A’Hearn of Camillus, NY and Noreen Forder (Travis Shaw) of Cicero, NY; her sons Norman (Melissa) Forder of Luray, VA and David Forder Jr. (Melanie Martinez) of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren Joshua A’Hearn (Carolyn Dudden), Alyssa Varga (Richard), Summer Forder, Sierra Forder, and Emma Forder; great grandchildren Leo and Finn Varga, James A’Hearn, and Elijah Dudden; brother Bernard (Helen) Oyer; She was predeceased by her husband David Forder Sr., her brothers Richard, Raymond, Luke, and Robert Oyer; sister Gertrude Race and her parents.
Calling hours will be held on Friday August 8, 2025, from 4:00-6:00PM with a funeral following at 6:00PM at Owens Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College Street Clinton, NY 13323. A graveside service will take place at Crown Hill Cemetery on Saturday August 9, 2025, at 10:00 AM.
