Obituary of Timothy A. Hawkins

Timothy A. Hawkins, 66, of Rome, passed away at home on July 24, 2025, surrounded by his family.

He was born July 11, 1959, the son of Donald J. and Carol (Hessler) Hawkins. Tim was a master carpenter who could envision and build anything. He rarely sat idle, unless he was waiting in the woods for a deer to cross his sights or while fishing on lakes or ice. He put a lot of time into tending his gardens and caring for his fish tanks. Tim always looked forward to a trip to his favorite spot on the St. Lawrence River. He was a family man and was happiest spending time with his kids and grandkids.

Tim is survived by his loving companion, Karen Thompson; his children, Timothy Vernon, Jennifer Vernon, Angelica and Tyler Kaufman, Zackary Hawkins, Alyssa Simmons, and Sean Hawkins; several grandchildren; his mother, Carol Hawkins; and brother Jimmy Hawkins.
