Obituary of Elizabeth A. Masi
Elizabeth A. “Gail” Masi, 84, of New Hartford, NY went home to the Lord on July 15, 2025. Born in Utica, NY on October 24, 1940, she was the daughter of Jerome Steates and Blanch Phelps Steates. Gail graduated from Clinton High School in 1956. She was united in marriage to Carlo Masi in 1956, the two shared a blessed union until his passing on July 10, 2011. Carlo and Gail worked side by side to grow their family’s wholesale produce company, Carlo Masi Sons and Daughter.
Gail loved her family above all else. She was devoted to her husband Carlo for 56 years and together they built a life she was incredibly proud of. She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Gail enjoyed spending her winters in Florida and welcoming her family to join them on vacation. She loved to read and always kept her mind busy with a good book. She was a member of the Westmoreland Questers, the Red Hat Society and enjoyed meeting people along the way. She loved to host tea parties with her daughters and granddaughters.
Gail is survived by her children and their spouses, Fanny (Ed) Krawiec, Michael (Marie) Masi, Sam (Diane) Masi, Vito (Terry) Masi, Debra Masi, Carla (Cathi) Masi; and Jerry (Julie) Masi; brother Frederick (Irene) Steates; sisters Nancy Podsiadlo and Carol (Doug) Smith; sisters-in-law Hilda Coy and Hilda Masi; grandchildren Angela Masi, Joshua (Lena) Masi, Kurt (Kristi) Krawiec, Matthew (Reanna) Krawiec, Jennifer Krawiec, Katherine Krawiec, Laura Krawiec, Rebecca Krawiec, Rachel Krawiec, Erica (Joshua) Figueira, Emily (Joshua) Koelle, Dominick Masi, Kyle Masi, Heather (Aaron ) Bell, Carlo (Lindsay) Masi, Anthony (Nicole) Masi; Ryan Reilly, Elizabeth Reilly, Jankani Masi, Brittany Masi, and Danielle Masi; 16 beloved great-grandchildren; her nieces and nephews and numerous friends. She was predeceased by her husband Carlo Masi, her granddaughter Christina Masi, and her parents.
Friends and family are invited to call on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 4-7PM at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College Street, Clinton, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Saturday, July 19, 2025 at 1 PM at Holy Family Catholic Church, 4352 Peterboro St, Vernon, NY. Burial will take place at Maple Grove Cemetery.
