Obituary of Eileen V. Cieri

Eileen Veronica Cieri, 86, passed away July 6, 2025 with her daughters by her side.

Eileen was born in Brooklyn, NY on February 10, 1939, the daughter of the late William and Catherine Casey. In 1955 Eileen was united in marriage to Louis Cieri Jr. They shared a loving union of 67 years until Louise’s passing in 2022.

Eileen owned The Curiosity Shop and had a keen eye for antiques and collectables. She was an avid garage saler and enjoyed finding treasures.

 One of her most unique purchases was the Octagon House in Deansboro, where she raised her family.

Although always an entrepreneur, her true calling was a caregiver of many generations. She was a true “Mother” to all.

She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and Aunt/Mom. She cherished her life-long friendships of over 60 years.

She is survived by her three daughters, Christine Pett, Debra (Michael) Turner, Theresa Crawford; three special niece and nephews which she helped raise, James (Cathi) Matrone, Donna (Ken) Patricia and Michael (Annette) Matrone. Her beloved grandchildren, Cole (Sarah) Williams, Casey (Nikki) Williams, Jessica Pett, Kyle (Mandi) Crawford, Emily Crawford; Her cherished great grandchildren, Nathan, Gavin and Zane Williams, Hayden and Harper Williams, Seb and Lonzo Messina-Loefler, Prince Brown, Kalianna Potocki, Aryelle Pett-Rocker, Sophia and Evelyn Crawford.

She was predeceased by her parents, her brother Michael Casey and her granddaughter Jennifer Rice.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:00 am Friday, July 11, 2025, at St Mary’s Church in Clinton. Burial will be in Deansboro Cemetery followed by a gathering at Michael T’s Restaurant, New Hartford.  There will be no public calling hours. Arrangements by Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Home, Clinton.
