Obituary of Thomas Scott Green

Please share a memory of Thomas to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

Thomas Green, 63, passed away in his sleep on June 18, 2025.

He was born on November 21, 1962, son of H. Kenneth and Grace (Brown) Green.  He went to Westmoreland Central School with the Class of 1980.  Tom worked construction in New York, Las Vegas and California. After 12 years in California, he returned to New York after suffering a major heart attack and open-heart surgery.  Tom loved fishing, going to the casino, and going to his favorite restaurant Applebee’s, to see his buddies Chaz, Paul and Mark. He loved talking politics with them, especially about our current president, while playing his weekly Take 5 ticket. He had fun joking around with the lovely bartenders there too.  He really enjoyed it at Applebee’s.

He is survived by one sister Elesa Stoddard and her husband Ed; one son Michael Green; many nieces and nephews; his best friend, caregiver and companion for over 30 years, Toni Hoffmeister; and his very good friend Jeff Senior.

He was predeceased by his brothers Lewis, Peter, Dale, Allen, Calvin, John and Ed Green; his sisters Ruth Janukowski, Edna Klis, and Leslie Green; also, his best friends Scott Senior and John Senior.

We would like to thank all of the nurses, aides and employees who took care of Tom at Abraham House, especially Bonnie, Irene and Crystal from Hospice Home Care who came two times a week to see Tom.  He did enjoy visiting and talking with then all.  Thank you for making him smile and laugh even on the day he died.

There will be no public services.
