
Obituary of Mildred F. Clair
Mildred Joan (Millie) Fredericks Clair, 91, passed away peacefully at her home on Skyline Drive, Oriskany Falls, Monday morning May 5, 2025.
She was born on July 11, 1933, to William and Mabel Phinney Fredericks. She was a 1951 graduate of Oriskany Falls High School. She married Edward Clair in 1952. They have shared 71 years of love and friendship. She had many jobs in the businesses in Oriskany Falls including McNamara’s Grocery Store, Bullock’s Café and Variety Shop, and Lilly White Manufacturing.
She was a life member of the Augusta Presbyterian Church and the New York State Grange. She was the school tax collector for District 10 Town of Augusta in 1965 through 1968. She was a huge fan of the QVC Network and purchased many gifts for her family and friends from them.
Millie is survived by her beloved husband Ed; three sons Randy and Sue Clair of North Brookfield, Reed and Hollis Clair of Oriskany Falls, and Radford Clair also of Oriskany Falls. Three grandchildren, Doctors’ Ross and Rupal Clair of Kenosha, WI, Erin Clair of North Brookfield, and Ian Clair of Oriskany Falls. Four great grandchildren, Emma Boice of North Brookfield, Kian, Ayan, and Sahana of Kenosha, Wi. She is also survived by her sister-in-law Kathleen Cossette, several friends, cousins, nieces, and nephews.
Millie is preceded in death by her parents William and Mabel Fredericks, brothers and sisters-in-law Bill and Thelma Fredericks and Ed and Mamie Fredericks, sisters Hazel (Molly) and George Murphy and Christina Rush, brothers-in-law Donald Cossette, Richard Clair, John and Lucy Clair, Joe and Elva Clair, and sister-in-law Rose Clair.
Memorial donations may be made to the Oriskany Falls Fire Department and the Augusta Presbyterian Church. The family wishes to extend their heart-felt gratitude to Millie’s caregivers during her illness: Teresa, Shari, Mary, and her granddaughter Erin. The family wants to thank Dr. Chabot for his caring of her.
