Obituary of Stephen B. Knight III
Stephen B. Knight III
Utica, New York
Stephen B. Knight III passed away peacefully on Saturday, April 12. A devoted father, grandfather, and great-grandfather, Stephen lived a rich and fulfilling life, marked by success, adventure, and a love for his family.
Stephen spent the first half of his life in the New York City metropolitan area, where he built a successful career and embraced the fast pace of the city. Later, he settled in Clinton and Utica, New York, where he found a quieter rhythm and built a warm, welcoming home. A passionate traveler, he explored much of the world—but always found joy in returning home, especially when he could welcome others in.
Known for his gracious hospitality, he and his late wife Charlotte loved having houseguests. He had a gift for making people feel at ease and valued, and his home was always a place of comfort and conversation.
He is predeceased by his first wife, Anna, and his second wife, Charlotte, as well as his beloved sons Thomas, Stephen IV, and Michael.
He is survived by his sons, James and John; his grandchildren, Kristina, John, and Stephen V; and his great-grandchildren, Stephen VI and Anna. His generosity, spirit, and warmth will live on in the hearts of all who knew him.
All are invited to call Tuesday, April 29, 2025 from 5-7pm at Owens-Pavlot & Rogers Funeral Service, 35 College St., Clinton, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10am Wednesday at St. Mary's Church in Clinton. He will be buried at St. Mary's Cemetery.
